BIGBANG 'FXXK IT' and 'LAST DANCE' Comeback Reviews | Dying For Drama

Annyeong!

Hehe, it's been a while hasn't it? Mianhae! I've had literally 0 inspiration to write, but today I have, you know why?

BIGBANG HAVE COME BACK!! After god knows how long with fuck all, THE FULL MADE ALBUM IS FINALLY OUT!! There are two MVs for the album, so I'm going to be telling you guys a bit about them and what I think of them.

FXXK IT

Can we discuss how fucking attractive the BIGBANG boys are? I'd never payed attention to it before but DAMN those boys have aged well! I mean, can we take a sec to appreciate GD's hair? I think green suits him best. This is a really upbeat song, and unlike a lot of k-pop songs, I don't feel like this is painfully whitewashed like some songs are. I like that they're not just showing off one line, this allows both the vocalists and the rappers to show off what they can do.
As for the MV, well, it's amazing. A simple box MV, but I feel like the boys are getting to a point now where they can make even a box MV work on their side. They're funny, not taking themselves too seriously which I think was a good idea seeing as if they had then it wouldn't have worked given the fun and free nature of the song.
I'm giving this MV 5 kimchis out of 5; I can't find anything bad to say about it!

LAST DANCE

Immediately you can tell this is going to be a lot more of a balade-type song, but I actually quite like this one, even though I'm not really into balades. This is definitely more to show of the vocal skills of the group, which they do beautifully.
I don't even know how to explain the MV. It's not really one to explain, if I'm honest, the only thing I don't really like about it is the camera angles. I get it's to be all artsy and that's cool, it just gave me a bit of a headache after a while!
I'm giving this one 4 kimchis out of 5, simply because the MV wasn't really to my taste.

All in all, I'm very happy with this BIGBANG comeback. Both show off everything the group have to offer, and it's stunningly well, too might I add. The fun side and the more serious side, both showing that the group have matured very well. FXXK IT was definitely my favourite of the two, though.

What did you think of the comebacks?

5-In-1 Comeback Reviews | Dying For Drama

Annyeong!

There have been a hell of a lot of comebacks recently, and as much as I want to review them all, I don't really have enough to say or enough time to post them seeing as I want them to still be of actuality when I post my review. With that in mind, I'm going to be reviewing 5 MVs today. Enjoy!

TWICE 'TT' - 3.5/5 kimchis

Despite the fact that this sounds like most girl groups in k-pop, this isn't actually too bad. It's one of those songs you hate to love. The MV is just generally weird and they're all dressed up in different costumes. Though I would like it if someone could explain to me what that choreo is all about? JYP didn't strain themselves too much finding that did they. Maybe one day a girl group with get a really good, full choreography that doesn't automatically make them look cute or sexy.

Block B 'My Zone' - 4.5/5 kimchis

This is very different compared to what Block B has previously released. It's a lot more funky that what they usually put out, but I do like it. It's refreshing and even though it's not the most original style in the world they pull it off very well. I don't understand why they decided to make it in Japanese, I mean, each to their own, I guess. I don't have too much to say about the MV, it's pretty basic box MV, though I have to say that they really don't look dressed appropriately for the kind of song they're singing. The choreography is on point and I shall be trying to learn it because daaaamn.

Monsta X 'Fighter' - 3/5 kimchis

I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. I mean, I love Monsta X and think they're going to be big, but by the time 'Stuck' was released I was getting a bit jaded with the whole "fighting, army, overcoming the elements" concept they had going. I decided to give it a listen anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's got a good feel to it and it's a catchy song. I mean, I still am fairly sick of the concept, but the song as a separate entity is good. The choreo is also just really fucking good and really crisp.

SHINee '1 Of 1' - 2.5/5 kimchis

This is kind of bittersweet for me. I love SHINee, I think they're really great and talented and lovely, but it makes me sad to see that it really feels like SM have just thrown something at them to keep them busy so that they can focus on the newer and younger groups. It's got a very cliche, 80s vibe to it, that isn't really to my taste. I'm kind of pissed off in general because this just isn't a good comeback and I don't even think it's the boys' faults. The MV isn't particularly complex, just a simple box MV.

GOT7 - Hard Carry 2.5/5

I know I'm late to the party for this comeback but I still wanted to mention it as everyone is obsessed with it. Well... not quite everyone. I didn't not like it, the song is fairly catchy and the choreo is good too, I was just expecting, well, more. I was expecting something more epic, catchier, with a really complex and fluid dance. Because that's the impression everyone was giving off, and I just didn't get that. I actually found myself getting bored half way through, it seemed rather repetitive. The MV is also pretty banal. Like I said, it's not a bad comeback, but I don't think it's worth the hype everyone's giving it.

What are your thoughts on these comebacks? Let me know in the comments.

BTS 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' MV Review | Dying For Drama

Annyeong!

It's been a while! I'm sorry about that, I just feel like I didn't have anything to write about. A bit of writers block, shall we say. Anyway, I do apologise, but I'm back now, and I have another MV review for you guys!

MY BOYS CAME BACK! Much excitement on my part, seeing as the MV teasers and concept photos looked fucking beautiful, I was very intrigued to see what they were going to be showing us.

First off, the song. What the fucking fuckety fuck WHAT BANGTAN MY LOVES WHAT. I don't really know what to think of it, if I'm totally honest. It's a lot different to their usual style and I'm not sure what to think about it.

The song in itself is pretty catchy, as usual it saddens me that they've strayed so far from their debut style which is the style that made me love them so much. I get that their concepts change from one comeback to another but I still miss the No More Dream/Danger era.

The MV is hot as fuck. It's shot really well and the choreography is perfection. It's seriously beautiful. They start off in some kind of museum and there's loads of paintings. So right at the start, you see Jin blocked on a painting, then the song kicks in and they start dancing and all that shit. There are too many elements to the MV to go through it bit by bit.

I DON'T KNOW OKAY. It's bothering me. I like it but then I don't.

I'm giving this 4 kimchis out of 5.

I did want to review their album but there's like 15 tracks to that thing and I know perfectly well I'm going to run out of things to say after about 5, but I have been obsessed with it and the general consensus is hell yeaaah! It's so good! There's just enough rap, just enough slow stuff, and it's all balanced out perfectly and every song is a winner, I'm not even exaggerating when I say that I literally love them all.

I'm giving the album 5 kimchis out of 5.

I'm all ears for you guys' opinions!

My Favourite Fanfics | Dying For Drama

Annyeong!

I recently got into fanfics (I blame @yoonminet on Twitter if I'm honest, her fanfic thread is the one!) and I'm now obsessed, and I wanted to share some of my favourites with you guys. There are only BTS fanfics, I'm sorry, I'm BTS trash don't judge me! And there's also a lot of Yoonmin, I don't even know why there just is, maybe because I love the way people portray Yoongi?

Misters Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice

- This was so fucking funny!
- Yoonmin and VKook, if I remember correctly the other boys make an appearance at one point or another too, or are at the very least mentionned.
- Shit ton of fluff and mostly comedy, too.
- Neighbor AU
- The first fanfic I ever read.

Boyfriend Tag

- Fluff and smut.
- I really like how it goes back and forth in time, they do it well so it's pretty seamless.
- One of my favourites.
- Namjin features too; Hoseok and Taehyung are there too.

100 Day Love Challenge

- This was one of the very first ones I ever read.
- Really fucking funny
- Jimin is adorable. Yoongi's just awkward.
- Non-AU

- THIS IS ADORABLE.
- Slow build
- Fake relationship
- You'll probably want to strangle Jimin and hug Yoongi. Just sayin'.

- This fic is just fucking beautiful
- THE END BROKE ME.
- Slow build.
- Yoonmin are there too, and Hoseok, too.
- Smut.

- This was so good.
- So much smut.
- Angst.

- This is very quickly becoming one of my favourites.
- Jimin is hilarious.
- Jungkook is awkward
- Kind of Taekook, Namjin. All the boys are featured.

- Everything goes to shit.
- Smut. So. Much. Smut.
- Everything goes batshit.
- Confusion.
- It's fucking brilliant.
- Taegi, Jikook, Namseok, Yoonmin (for like 5 seconds), SugaKookie (again, for about 5 seconds). Bref, as I said, everything goes to shit, and it's amazing.
- Other members of different bands feature.

- Gossip Girl-esque.
- This is so cute.
- Really well written.
- Taekook, Jin is straight for once.
- Jessica (from SNSD) features.

- This was sweet.
- Slow build.
- Flirting.
- Yoonmin.

Like I said, I'm BTS trash, don't judge me. Feel free to recommend any fanfics, I'm all ears for some new ones to read. I may do a part 2 to this once I find enough fics that I like. Let me know in the comments if you guys would like it.

Red Velvet "Russian Roulette" MV Review | Dying For Drama

Annyeong!

I didn't quite know what to expect from Red Velvet with this comeback. Their last comeback had been so calm and balad-y, but then Dumb Dumb and Ice Cream Cake were the complete opposite of that, so I really didn't know what was in store. Here's what I thought about it.

I'm going to start with the song because I'm listening to it as I write this and something's occured to me. This is basically the stereotype of k-pop. It's so k-pop it feels like a paranoia. There's the electro in background, the high pitched voiced, the fucking weird MV. GUYS I'VE FOUND THE K-POP STEREOTYPE!

In all seriousness, the song is actually pretty good. It's quite vintage, but still very electronic and all in all it's pretty catchy. I like it - I mean I wouldn't have it on repeat but if it came on while I was on shuffle on Youtube I wouldn't skip past it. Does that make any sense? Though the more I think about this is definitely the kind of song I could expect to grow on me.

Onto the video. Wow. What the fuck is the video about. From what I understand, they're trying to kill someone (or multiple people) like they do in cartoons. Ex. Piano falling on them, fridge falling on them, ect...
Then mixed in with that they're playing tennis? And sometimes it's normal quality but then sometimes it goes all vintage-y. It's just really fucking weird, that's all I can say about it to be honest.
Maybe it's because I don't understand what they're singing about, but I'm betting more for them having been on some kind of LSD when they thought up the MV.

All in all, this isn't all bad. It's pretty catchy and the production isn't too shabby. The composition is pretty good, too.

I'm giving this comeback 3,5 kimchis out of five.

What did you guys think of it?

Drama Drinking Game: King Of High School | Dying For Drama

Annyeong!

I've decided to do another drama drinking game, simply because I'm currently obsessed with King Of High School (with my love, Seo In Guk). If you're interested in what it's about a high school guy called Lee Min Seok, who's just a normal high schooler, ice-hockey team, he usual. His older brother, who looks shockingly like him, is meant to come back from Germany, but doesn't. Min Seok gets a call in the middle of the night from his brother, asking him to go to his new job, posing as him. So basically he ends up living a double life, half high-schooler, half-successful business man.
It's hilarious and there's of course a love plot and all that kind of jazz, but this isn't a review, this is a drinking game, so let's do this.

Take A Sip When...
Jung Yoo Ah is impossibly clingy.
Jung Soo Yeong waters her moss plant.
Han Yeong Seok yells at Kim Chang Soo.

Take 2 Sips When...
Lee Min Seok's friends act like idiots (3 if they nearly blow Min Seok's cover in the process).
Yoo Jin Woo acts like a douche towards Jung Soo Yeong.
Anyone has a flashback

Take A Shot When...
One of the three women that work with Soo Yeong flirt with Min Seok (two if they're taking it in turns).
Yoo Jin Woo's father has a go at him.
Min Seok is late (two if he gets punished by his coach).

As always, if you have a drama you'd like me to do a drinking game for then let me know in the comments!
